The Sisterhood of the Hiding Sun

According to their myths the Sisterhood of the Hiding Sun was founded by the goddess Sariel who came fleeing from strange lands carrying with her a mysterious scroll called The Truth. It is said that the scroll contained her secret testimony of what really happened during The Night Of Too Much Blood. Here she trained her first Sidhe followers in the divine art of spear fighting so they would be available to defend The Truth against Those That Would Taint Its Light, until The Appointed Time when The Truth would finally come to light. Since that time a thousand years have passed, and if anyone ever knew when The Appointed Time would be, it is known today no longer. Thus the Sisters of Sariel wait while speculating about the contents of The Truth.

The Sisterhood's Thealogy

These speculations have led to an intricate thealogical system in which everything is divided in four forms or stages, as delineated below:

A Myth about The Truth

The most highly esteemed form of art among the sister's is a form of associative storytelling, often accompanied by music, on the basis of this quatrifold system. The following is a (poor) translation of such a story:

In the spring Sariel was born at dawn, a Chimaera in the sea of Chaos. As she was just a childish Gnome she had to learn to acquire knowledge and betray her parents to become more than a daughter.
In the summer, having become an adult elf she came upon the Material, there becoming a apostle to her Sphinxlike saviour with whom she employed the fires of noon.
But as autumn came, dusk fell upon this relationship and she had to become a Sidhe and run like the winds into our Fae Wild, as an elder Unicorn to teach us to hide the Truth she had chronicled.
Eventually winter followed and afraid that the executioner would taint the Truth she decided to forget it and become as lost as the Sidhe-dar-kai, floating into the midnight of The Unknown like a Will-o’-the-Wisp. Now merely an ancestor drifting upon the earth, yet becoming a Goddess through us.
